With many people away or enjoying their Easter Sunday activities, there was still a good turnout of 74 runners, for the Lake Canobolas run and Easter Egg hunt. Collecting the overall handicap win on the day was Peter Mueller who completed the 6km run in 24:39 on his way to finishing 10s second behind winner, Joel Kitto. Finishing third in the 6km run was Ged Hawthorn some 2 minutes behind Mueller, but ahead of the 16 other guys tackling this distance. Taking first place of the 13 ladies, Estelle Dean (25:24) just pipped Liz Simpson and close behind was Alice Munro.

Fastest overall in the 3k was the consistent Amber Rich with a quick 12:55. Finishing equal second were young guns Jessie Dean and Ella Lamrock. Of the boys a group of young stars led an experienced field of runners, with Noah Lamrock (14:27) finishing ahead of Logan Whiteley and Liam Sharp.

Wednesday’s Elephant Park handicap race saw Mitchell Williamson run another super quick 3 laps for a 8:50 time that again was clearly the fastest of the night and included a first lap of 2:06. To put this in perspective for the majority of us runners a 5 minute lap is a milestone achievement and 4 minutes is the ultimate goal. Connor Whiteley was also very fast running 10 minutes to continue his fantastic recent form. Almost 100 runners and 16 personal bests recorded and were achieved by:Frances Taylor-Wood 13s(23:10), Abby Dean 14s(13:38), Leanne Corcoran 47s(11:34), Naomi Sunderland 10s(14:01), Busta Connolly 3m 28s(20:05), Joy Harvey 44s(18:08), Lachlan Harvey 2m 59s(17:12), Andrew McArdle 7m 8s(30:38), Julie Swain 1m 48s(15:57), Tim Edmonstone 15s(11:36), Sue Betts 12s(17:41), Fred Bangert 2m 42s (13:58), Hannah Lincoln 1m 29s(17:48), Rebecca Lincoln 16s(15:26), Georgia Oakes 1m 54s(15:40) and Kate Hogben 24s(16:04). The overall winner was one of our timing guru’s in John Hannan, who ran an even 3 laps in 19:40.
